Just finished re-reading this classic memoir by Danish Victoria Cross winner Thomas Dinesen who fought with 42nd Battalion (Royal Highlanders of Canada) in 1918 on the Western Front. I have no idea what this picture is about but my grandfather is almost certainly the man sitting front and center between the two civilians.

I thought at first this might be a village in France named Duquesne but I suspect it's an organization from Pennsylvania named Duquesne that sponsored this canteen.
